Pallet Stairs

The Work Bee

We were out near Eatonia, Saskatchewan
running a truck-based hang gliding competition.

Flying depends on the weather.
And not every day is flyable.

So when the wind didn’t cooperate,
we did what people used to do more often.

We worked.

One of the pilots had family in the area
they ran a bee apiary and were helping us manage the logistics of the event.

To return the favour, we organized a work bee.

No drawings. No materials list.
Just what was on hand.

A stack of pallets.
Some tools.
A job that needed doing.

We built a set of stairs, simple, solid, and functional.
Nothing fancy. Just right.

Because sometimes good building isn’t about perfection.
It’s about understanding materials, working with what you have,
and getting it done properly.
